A Riftborne match is governed by tempo: the rate at which an empire converts production and information into useful options. Source
Evidence status — confirmed: Unless noted otherwise, mechanics are verified against the installed patch 11.73 guide.
The visible loop is simple:
produce → build → scout → expand → pressure → hold objectives
The deeper loop is about tempo. Every capped warehouse, idle shipyard, slow launch base, stale spy report, and indefensible colony gives away time. Good players convert time into optionality: enough storage to wait, enough intelligence to choose, and enough travel speed to respond.
The normal victory paths are:
- Origin victory: clear and colonize
(0,0), then raise the culture-specific Wormhole to level 100. - Keystone victory: one faction controls five Keystone colonies, each with at least 1,000 Visions.
If all other campaign factions surrender in multiplayer, the last unsurrendered faction also wins.
Origin and Keystone sites begin under static KRAKEN Void garrisons. Objective sites can be attacked and spied on, but not raided. Enemy objective values are only as current as the last successful spy snapshot; faction-owned objectives are live to their faction.
